An NYPD patrol car struck and seriously injured a woman who was walking in the Bronx Monday afternoon, leaving her in critical condition, cops said.
The woman, who was in her 30s, was at Pelham Parkway and Wallace Avenue around 3:26 p.m. when the cop car hit her, police and FDNY officials said.
The officers who were there tried to save her by administering CPR, cops said. She was taken to Jacobi Hospital in “very critical” condition, an official said.
A single pink running shoe was on the side of the roadway as cops investigated the scene.
The patrol car was responding to a request for assistance from cops who had stopped a vehicle on the Throgs Neck Bridge, police said.
