Over $1 million in marijuana was seized yesterday afternoon in Sangre Grande.
Officers of the Eastern Division’s Special Division Unit, under the supervisions of Snr Sup Aguilal and Cpl Ramnarine, seized 55 kilogrammes of marijuana yesterday, at a home along McShine Street, Sangre Grande.
According to police reports, at about 12:40pm officers went to the home of a known suspect to execute a search warrant for arms and ammunition. When officers arrived at the scene, they heard strange noises and entered.
They observed several white crocus bags containing 72 bricks of compressed marijuana. Checks were made for the suspect, but he could not be located.
