Bahamas: LPIA obtains airport health accreditation

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) has obtained the Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) Health Accreditation.

The ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) program provides airports with an assessment of how aligned their health measures are with the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines and the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Council Aviation Restart Task Force recommendations along with industry best practices and the World Health Organization.

Aviation and tourism are key economic drivers for national economies and society at large, particularly in island nations.

“We are pleased to have obtained this health accreditation which is a positive milestone on our road to economic and tourism recovery,” said Vernice Walkine, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Nassau airport.
