With the launch of the World Without Waste Recycling Center Commewijne yesterday, Fernandes Bottling Company gave the official go-ahead for the sustainable processing of plastic waste, including PET bottles. The Commewijne district kicked off the project, which will be carried out nationwide.
Minister Silvano Tjong-Ahin of Spatial Planning and the Environment and director Bryan Renten of Fernandes Bottling Company officially opened the first recycling center in Meerzorg, near the roundabout at the offices of the SWM and RGD.
The intention is for citizens to deposit their plastic packaging at the Fernandes recycling center. Renten argued that every manufacturer that brings plastic packaging into the country should also make a small contribution to the sustainable processing of plastic waste.
