Trinidad & Tobago: MoH: CDAP is not being stopped

Citizens can continue to access medication through the Chronic Disease Assistance Programme (CDAP).

The assurance comes from the Ministry of Health as it sought to allay fears that the initiative was being stopped.

A Letter to the Editor appearing in a daily newspaper called on Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh to “leave the programme alone”.

The Ministry advised that the Minister at no time indicated that the CDAP initiative would be stopped.

The Ministry said citizens can rest assured that they can continue to receive their medication to address chronic non-communicable diseases via CDAP.

The CDAP programme is available to all citizens. Through CDAP citizens can receive free prescription drugs in the treatment of diabetes, hypertension and other cardiac diseases, glaucoma, asthma, arthritis, depression and benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).
