Trinidad & Tobago: Bail for woman charged with trafficking $1 million in cocaine

A 34-year-old woman, who allegedly attempted to traffick an estimated $1 million in cocaine, has been granted bail in the sum of $350,000.

Natalie Chambers, of Mt Hope, appeared virtually before Magistrate Indar Jagroo in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court.

Chambers was arrested and charged by Customs and Excise officer Shamika Joseph.

She was represented by attorney Keith Beckles.

The interest of the State was represented by senior state attorney with Customs and Excise Harricharan Kassie.

The charges stemmed from an incident on September 1, at a courier company in San Juan, where it was alleged that Charles attempted to export a quantity of cocaine in four ketchup packages contained in a cardboard box to the United States.
