Trinidad & Tobago: Officials: Autopsy on murdered Venezuelan woman inconclusive

Officials said an autopsy which was conducted on Venezuelan national Joanna Sanchez was inconclusive.

Loop News was told that due to the state of decomposition of Sanchez’s body, a definitive result could not be given. However, tissue samples were secured for further analysis.

The post mortem took place at the Forensic Science Center in St James on Monday September 7, 2020.

Relatives have since told police that they are hopeful to cremate Sanchez’s body to send the ashes back to her surviving relatives in Venezuela.

Despite the inconclusive report, police believe the 33-year-old woman was strangled to death, following a confession given by a 35-year-old man, who is an electrician by trade.

Diaz’s body was found on September 5, 2020, in a cesspit at a house along Santa  Clara Road, Preysal.
