Jamaica: ‘Buggie Reds’ arrested for shooting man 11 times, Portland businessman under probe

A Portland man is facing criminal charges for allegedly shooting another man eleven times.

Damion Harris, also known as ‘Buggie Reds’, has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as shooting with intent, police sources have revealed.

The charges were laid yesterday by detectives assigned to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Major Investigation Division.

Investigators believe Harris acted at the direction of a well-known businessman in the parish when he allegedly carried out the attack in Anchovy Land Settlement on March 21.

The businessman has not been charged in connection with the shooting, but sources say investigators are still searching for evidence of his involvement.

“It’s an allegation, but he is a suspect and the investigation is still ongoing to determine his role,” one police source disclosed.
