Trinidad and Tobago: Street party stopped after explosions, loud music

Reports of loud music and explosions in Upper Dibe, Long Circular early yesterday morning, resulted in the arrest of five persons.

The offences included obscene language, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest.

Officers from the Western Division Task Force responded and observed approximately 200 persons partying in the streets. The crowd was quickly dispersed.

The exercise was supervised by Cpl Hunte and assistance was received from Western Division Patrols, Special Operations Response Team (SORT), the Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). Insp Horsford also visited the location.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service reminded citizens that the new Public Health Ordinance Regulations are in effect from today and that their actions should be guided accordingly.
