Trinidad and Tobago: Dual citizens beg to leave T&T

WHILE thousands of nationals outside Trinidad and Tobago await exemptions to come home, the Government is being asked to look at a flight programme to accommodate “dual citizens” stuck in T&T, many of whom are elderly and in need of medical attention abroad.

Several people reaching out to the Express said they have applied for exemptions to leave T&T — using the dedicated email address provided by National Security Minister Stuart Young on July 6, but have received no response.

They have questioned statements by Government officials in recent weeks that the State will look at a repatriation partnership with the national carrier, Caribbean Airlines, saying it is extremely difficult for the average citizen to acquire information on charter flights operating locally.
