Dominican Republic: CPJ asked to investigate San Juan judges for murder

The relatives of Professor Julio César Jiménez Valdez, kidnapped and burned in San Juan de la Maguana, yesterday called for the intervention of the Judicial Power Council (CPJ) to curb the alleged complicity of the president of the collegiate court of the said municipality with those charged in death of the teacher.

José Miguel Jiménez Valdez, brother of the victim, said that the people of San Juan are outraged by the way the judges who handle the case have handled it,

“We ask the CPJ as the honorable Supreme Court of Justice, to order an investigation to the judges of said collegiate court in San Juan, in order to determine why they decided to discharge the guilty parties, despite the fact that two of the hitmen who participated, said in audience who hired them and the way they killed the professor. ”

They announced that they will develop a fight plan until justice is done.
