Plenty of Fish is making its online dating site a filter-free zone.
The site announced in a blog post on Tuesday it was “implementing a face filter ban across the platform” and will begin removing photos featuring them.
The site surveyed 2,000 singles in the U.S. to gauge public opinion on the use of face filters in photos on dating sites.
Some 70% of those surveyed “consider the use of face filter to heavily alter someone’s appearance to be deceptive.”
A quarter of the survey sample said their first thought when seeing a potential match with a face filter is that they’re pretending to be someone they’re not.
