Jay-Z takes on role with cannabis company

Looks like Jay-Z might be plotting a Takeover of the marijuana industry.

The Brooklyn-born rapper will serve as chief brand strategist for Caliva, a California cannabis company, the dispensary announced Tuesday.

In the position, Jay-Z will “focus on and work to increase the economic participation of citizens returning from incarceration — many of who are not seeing the monetary benefits of legalization — through advocacy, job training, and overall employee and workforce development,” Caliva said in a statement.

The San Jose-based company has nabbed a number of high-profile investors to date, including Joe Montana and former Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, according to CNN.
