Dominican Republic: Salary Committee approves salary increase of 14%

Agreement. Starting on the 1st of this month, private sector employees will begin to charge a salary adjustment of 14 percent.

The decision was announced yesterday by the National Wages Committee, after a meeting with representatives of the business sector and the trade union centers, as a result of several meetings in which no agreement had been reached.

The agreement of the National Salary Committee establishes that the minimum wage of large companies with stocks greater than 4 million pesos will be RD $ 17,610; of medium-sized companies with stocks between RD $ 2 million and RD $ 4 million will be RD $ 12,107; and of small companies with stocks up to RD $ 2 million will be RD $ 10,730.
