Dominican Republic: Highlight coconut farming is important for tourism RD

The sowing and sustainability of the traditional coconut cultivation in the country is essential to preserve the tourist sector, taking into account that the coconut trees are the image of idyllic Dominican beaches.

This appreciation is from the organizers of the Second National Coconut Festival, which will be hosted by the city of Nagua from next July 24 and will have the participation of 30 institutions.

The public that attends the activity will be able to enjoy and acquire the more than 60 byproducts extracted from the coconut fruit, such as oil, flour, juice, water, jicara, cosmetics, fertilizers, liquors, handicrafts, stimulants and medicines.
