Haiti: Attacks on the media are multiplying

Attacks against the media are multiplying on Monday morning, at Poste Marchand (Port-au-Prince), a minibus of Radio Télé Métropole was attacked with stones by individuals mostly hooded, while a team of the station was preparing to cover an opposition demonstration, fortunately without making victim among the passengers.

Intervening in the midday news report, Wendell Théodore, the head of the news room of Radio Metropole, urged opposition leaders to better control their activists, warning “if they continue to attack us, we know who to complain against.”

An aggression added to a list that continues to lengthen each week among others :

On the evening of Monday, June 24, heavily armed men carrying bulletproof vests attacked Marc Carl Dupiton, a correspondent for Radio Tele Ginen in Saint-Marc while he was in his vehicle on the Nationale #1 towards his private residence.
