An elementary school student in Kennewick, Wash., brought a baggie of methamphetamine to school and turned in his parents for drug possession on Wednesday.

The boy gave the meth he had found in his home to a staff member and told them he was afraid to return home, according to the Kennewick Police Department.

A school resource officer talked to the child and got more information about the situation.

The boy’s parents, Jennifer Edwards, 29, and Daniel O’Leary, 29, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance after police executed a search warrant at their home.
