A towering Brooklyn ex-con betrayed an elderly neighbor’s trust by beating her, binding her and raping her in her basement, prosecutors said Monday as he was hit with a 23-count indictment.
Selwyn Worrell visited his 88-year-old next door neighbor often, walking through her property whenever he forgot the keys to his own house, prosecutors said.
On April 24, Worrell, 24, knocked on the back door of the woman’s Vermont St. home in East New York again, and she let him in again. Only this time, he attacked her after she sat down to watch TV, prosecutors said.
He grabbed her by the neck, dragged her into the basement, tied her with electrical tape, gagged her with a pillowcase, beat her, pushed her to the floor, and raped her, prosecutors allege.
