An emotionally-disturbed Bronx dad tried to kill his son and daughter by slicing their throats before barricading himself inside his home for more than an hour, cops said Wednesday.
The pandemonium started at about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, when Carlos Camilo, 43, got into an argument with his wife in his Kingsbridge home on Irwin Ave. She rushed out of the house and called 911.
Police said Camilo then slashed his 18-year-old daughter’s throat, and attacked his 12-year-old son, police said. Both survived. He also cut himself, police sources said.
Camilo barricaded himself inside the home until just after midnight, telling his wife over the phone that police shouldn’t approach him, sources said.
It was not immediately clear how police entered the apartment, but they said Camilo was taken into custody without incident and transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he remained Wednesday night.
