NYC: Bronx man accused of stabbing roommate in the chest with a ‘pirate sword’

A fight between two roommates in the Bronx nearly turned deadly when one of the men pulled what police described as a “pirate sword” and stabbed the other, authorities said.

The fight kicked off at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the basement apartment the two men share on Huntington Avenue near Miles Avenue in Throggs Neck, cops said.

During the fight, one of the men, a 53-year-old, pulled the sword and stabbed the other man in the chest, authorities said.

The victim was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical but stable condition, authorities said. The man who stabbed him, who police said was highly intoxicated, was also taken to the hospital for a psych evaluation.

Neighbors said one of the men who lives in the house often wanders the streets of the neighborhood wearing military fatigues.
