A New Jersey pastor is peddling a toxic potion that he claims cures AIDS, cancer and malaria.
Robert Baldwin, the Burlington County clergyman, is hawking his “miracle cure” — which resembles industrial bleach — to thousands of people in Uganda, reported NJ Advance Media.
Calling it his “miracle mineral solution,” Baldwin is hawking chlorine dioxide, a potent mix of sodium chlorite and citric acid. The chemical combination acts as a stringent bleach common in the textile industry, reports The Guardian.
Africans as young as 14 months old are imbibing the extremely dangerous liquid that offers no known health benefits.
Baldwin, 52, has trained more than 1,000 clerics in Uganda on how to administer the solution. They then usually use it to treat congregants after Sunday services.
