Dominican Republic: MPD calls for endorsement of workers’ demands at Punta Catalina

The Dominican Popular Movement (MPD) demanded from the Odebrecht-Tecnimont-Estrella Consortium to make effective the payment of labor benefits to the thousands of workers of the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Plant , generated from the profits of the last fiscal year.

Likewise, the left organization offered its support to the struggle of those workers who demand the payment of labor benefits and asked the authorities to enforce those companies with the labor laws of the country.

In a note signed by its Political Commission, the MPD considered a provocation the refusal of the Consortium headed by Odebrecht to refuse to pay the bonuses for profits covered by Article 223 of the Labor Code.
