Dominican Republic: Dubai will support the country in handling children with autism

First Lady Cándida Montilla and the Director General of the Autism Center of Dubai, Mohammed Al Emadi, signed an agreement yesterday in that emirate that will benefit children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and family members who receive services in the Care Center Integral for Disability (Caid).

He indicated a note that the Arab center is the most innovative and largest in that area, and will advise the country with the assessment of the needs of that community. It will also train therapists to teach the skills of socialization, organization and habits necessary for everyday life.

The agreement establishes training in new methodologies for the care of autistic children, based on the research of the Dubai Center, which facilitates a support network for parents and educators of children up to 18 years of age.
