Families in the Dominican Republic received 6,494.1 million dollars as remittances during 2018, according to preliminary figures published by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD).
With the amount indicated above, families in the country received 582.3 million dollars over what was received in 2017, for a growth of 9.8%. In 2017 they had a reception of 5,911.8 million dollars as remittances.
The data indicate that between 2010 and 2018 the country entered more than 43,000 million dollars as a concept of remittances, having a growth above 76% in the same period, going from 3,682.9 million dollars in 2010 to 6,494.1 million dollars in 2018 .
The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic also details that from 2011 to 2018 the remittances received by citizens in the country, 66.0% obtained it in US dollars and 34.0% was in Dominican pesos.
