A 56-year-old woman was found dead, possibly for days, wrapped in a blanket in her Brooklyn home after officers used a Taser to fight their way past her boyfriend, police said Thursday.
It wasn’t clear if the woman was the victim of a crime, though sources said police believe she may have died of natural causes days ago, and her longtime boyfriend may not have had the mental capacity to understand she had died.
The boyfriend, Corey Lawrence, 57, at first refused to let them in, putting up a fight. Cops had to use a stun gun on him.
When cops found Donna Brown’s body facedown under the blanket, Lawrence bellowed, “Leave her alone! She’s just in a deep sleep,” sources said.
Neighbors told the Daily News that Brown and Lawrence both suffered from mental illness, and lived together for the past 10 years. She suffered from bi-polar disorder, he from schizophrenia, they said.
