Dominican Republic: Tension reigns in Baní after the death of Colonel PN

A tense calm reigned yesterday in the Santa Cruz sector of the city of Baní, where National Police Colonel Daniel Ramos Álvarez was shot dead at a drug spot.

A large part of the residents of Padre Lorenzo Hall Street of that sector remained expectant watching the police officers, who still at noon yesterday were still carrying out the investigations of the area.

Members of the Dicrim and a commission of the Office of the Public Prosecutor headed by the prosecutor Ángel Darío Tejeda and integrated by Miguel Ramos, Belkys Arias and Rodolfo Vizcaíno, made an uprising in the morning, where they gathered information from witnesses and some videos from the security cameras of some businesses in the block. Few people dare to comment on the circumstances in which the events took place, for fear of being involved.
