Biodegradable foambakjes are an alternative to relieve the environment of plastic. The producer of these trays, Vikash Bholasing, discussed the possibilities to introduce these environmentally friendly trays during a meeting with Minister Stephen Tsang of Trade, Industry and Tourism (HI & T). Bholasing was accompanied by his partner Shaharudeen Osman and wife, this is reported by the NII Monday in a press release.
Bholasing and Osman have long been engaged in the production of biodegradable trays in various shapes and sizes. This product is easily degradable and therefore a suitable replacement for the well-known foam containers. The duo has been supplying large numbers of these food boxes to Guyana (largest customer), Sint Vincent and Antigua for a number of years now. The aim is to get this environmentally friendly product on the Surinamese market, with the focus on reducing pollution of the environment.
