A brawling brute followed a drunken man into a Bronx bodega early New Year’s Day and beat him so badly he needed surgery to relieve pressure on his brain, NYPD sources said Sunday.
Police on Sunday released video from inside the bodega, and are asking the public’s help finding the hot-headed pugilist.
The suspect and the 66-year-old victim got into an argument outside a deli on Courtlandt Ave. and E. 152nd St. about 4:40 a.m., and when the victim walked inside, his attacker followed.
Video shows the goon walk in, round a corner, and grab the man. Moments later, the footage cuts to the victim splayed on the floor as the suspect walks off.
Police said the suspect shoved him to the ground and started pummeling his head, breaking bones in his face and knocking him unconscious.
Medics rushed him to Lincoln Hospital, in serious but stable condition, with bleeding on his brain, police said.
