Grenada: Dumfries Airport Gets The Green Light

A high-level qualified team of experts in the field of aviation have concluded that the Dumfries Chinese Housing Development project, which is now under construction would in no way, shape or form impede the operation of flights when the new airport is constructed in the community close to the shoreline.

Last week Friday a delegation comprising Director General of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA), McDonald McPhail; Technical Specialist, Richard Cox along with Chief Technical Officer, Gaston Courtemanche and civil engineer, William Bautista, both of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, together with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Rholda Quamina, Acting General Manager of the Grenada Airports Authority, Christina Joseph and Manager at the Lauristan Airport, Jacob Andrew made a special visit to the site

The team concluded that the green light is shining brightly for physical work to commence on the facility whenever all is in place to do so.

Former and current Ministers for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Elvin Nimrod and Kindra Mathurine-Stewart respectively and Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell have all spoken of a new state-of-the-art airport to be constructed at Dumfries.
