Cops have identified the Brooklyn woman who died in a fiery crash in Lower Manhattan Saturday morning, as the motorist whose wild driving caused the wreck awaits his first appearance in criminal court.
Amy Phillipson 57, of Marine Park, died after an Audi driven by 37-year-old Sherman Harrison clipped her Honda CR-V on West St. near Vesey St. at about 7:20 a.m.
Her SUV overturned and caught fire, police said.
Harrison, who was driving with a Rottweiler in his passenger seat, was weaving in and out of traffic when he struck Phillipson’s SUV.
After Harrison hit Phillipson’s SUV, he slammed into a pickup truck and a 2019 Hyundai before crashing into two parked cars, cops said. The other cars’ drivers survived the crash.
