NYC: Boy, 12, shot in leg at East Harlem housing development

A 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg in East Harlem Sunday night, police said.

The boy was shot at about 8:45 p.m. on E. 115th St. and Third Ave. near the Thomas Jefferson Houses.

Medics took him to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell, where he was reported in stable condition.

Police cordoned off the intersection and focused on a deli near Lexington Ave., where the boy apparently ran for help.

It wasn’t clear Sunday night if the boy was the shooter’s intended target. Police have not made any arrests.
