Suspect in Bronx teen’s murder slashed in the face at Rikers Island by rival gang member

One of the suspects accused of killing Bronx teen Lesandro (Junior) Guzman-Feliz was slashed in the face by a rival gang member inside a Rikers Island housing unit Tuesday, the Daily News has learned.

Manuel Rivera, 18, was attacked by Tyreek Johnson, 21, at the Robert N. Davoren Center on Rikers at 10 a.m., according to internal city Correction Department records.

The incident was captured on surveillance video.

Johnson, who is in jail on murder charges, is a reported member of the Bloods street gang.

Rivera, a suspected Trinitarios gang member, is among the accused in the horrific machete killing of 15-year-old Lesandro.

Jail staff struggled to lock down the other inmates in the area for an extended period of time because jail doors weren’t working properly, two jail insiders familiar with the incident said. The department’s Emergency Service Unit was called to the area to assist, records show.
