NYC: Queens man charged with shooting neighbor, dumping corpse in Yonkers

Cops made an arrest Wednesday in the slaying of a Queens man whose body was dumped near a Thruway overpass in Yonkers in July.

Dequan Rayes, 23, of Springfield Gardens, Queens, is charged with killing Brian Brain, 35.

Brain’s bullet-riddled body was found July 16 by the side of the New York State Thruway near the Tuckahoe Rd. exit in Yonkers.

Reyes allegedly killed Brain at Reyes’ home in Springfield Gardens. The suspect and victim lived a block from each other, said police.

It’s unclear how the two men were connected — but a witness came forward to seal the deal on the investigation, a police source said.

Reyes is charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

He has an extensive arrest record involving robbery, assault and drugs, cops said.

Reyes was awaiting arraignment Wednesday night in Queens Criminal Court.
