Trinidad: Guyana ex-minister knocks Opposition Leader’s proposal to source oil for Petrotrin

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s suggestion that Trinidad and Tobago could look to Guyana as a source of crude oil for the Petrotrin refinery has been rebuffed by Guyana’s former minister of natural resources and the environment, Robert Persaud.

In other words, Guyana is not Trinidad and Tobago’s “babu”. According to the Guyana dictionary, “babu” means family, friend and is an informal name used to address someone out of affection; usually a significant other; beloved or loved one.
