Trinidad: Tewarie-IMF statement shows T&T still in economic hole

Trinidad and Tobago is still deep in the economic hole into which it sank over the last two years, Caroni Central Opposition Member of Parliament (MP) and former planning minister and University of the West Indies (UWI) principal Dr Bhoe Tewarie said during an interview at the cocoa festival at La Vega Estate, Gran Couva, yesterday.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday said T&T’s real gross domestic product (GDP) is now projected to grow one per cent this year, which is higher than the 0.2 per cent it projected in April.
