East Pittsburgh police officer charged with criminal homicide in Antwon Rose shooting

An East Pittsburgh police officer was charged with criminal homicide early Wednesday in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Antwon Rose.

Rose was shot by Officer Michael Rosfeld on June 19 after running away from officers during a traffic stop.

Court records reveal that Rosfeld was arrested Wednesday and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.

Officer Rosfeld worked for the University of Pittsburgh police until early this year.

The Pennsylvania police officer had been placed on administrative leave after the shooting.
