Nassau County: “Long Island dad driving drunk with baby daughter in car crashes into tree — then flees the scene”

A drunken Long Island man driving with his 9-month-old daughter in tow crashed into a tree early Sunday — then grabbed the tot and fled the wreck, according to police.

Kevin Caceres, 25, was driving a 2001 Honda CRV on Clearstream Ave. in Valley Stream when he struck a tree a few blocks from his home about 2:20 a.m., Nassau County Police allege. He grabbed his crying baby in her car seat and ran off, a witness told cops.

Cops spotted Caceres nearby and arrested him. He had bloodshot eyes and reeked of booze, authorities said.

The baby was taken to the hospital as a precaution and then dropped off with her mother, police said.
