The Barbados Labour Party (BLP) 2018 manifesto lacks vision.
This is according to Democratic Labour Party (DLP) candidate for St George South, Dr Esther Byer-Suckoo, who admitted to taking a peep at the leaked 52-page draft document which outlines the Opposition’s plans over the next five years if victorious in the upcoming general election.
“I couldn’t even read the whole thing. It lacked any sort of connection with people – it is a dry, soulless document. But, what can you expect given where it came from. People that have no soul; they have no vision for Barbados. Their only vision is that they must get back in office,” she stressed.
“Vision is what you want as we go into an election. First, you need to have a vision for yourself, you need to look at where we are now as a country, where we are as individuals; and where we want to get to. The government that you choose is the government that will help you, that will pilot you towards that vision.”
Dr Byer Suckoo was at the time addressing the official opening of the St George North constituency office at Salters, throwing her support behind DLP candidate Jepter Ince who will come up against the BLP’s Gline Clarke who represented the area since 1994.
Furthermore, she told supporters that during this upcoming election focus must be placed on the youth of this country.
