Dominican Republic: “US cancels visas of 14 indicted in Odebrecht graft case”

The US State Dept. has canceled the US visa of the 14 Dominicans indicted in the case of the US$92.0 million bribe paid by the Brazilian conglomerate Odebrecht.

According to the indictments, the bribes included officials, legislators and lobbyists of the Dominican Republic to obtain contracts on major government works during various administrations.

Newspaper El Nacional reports that two senators and a deputy, whom despite also having official passports, Washington ordered its embassy in the Dominican Republic to suspend their B1-B2 visas.

It also revealed that a special prosecutor from New York follows up on the case in one of the salons of the Dominican Supreme Court.

Among the targeted by the measure figure Víctor Díaz Rúa, Conrad Pittaluga, Ruddy González, Andrés Bautista, Temístocles Montás, César Sánchez, Máximo De Óleo, Radhamés Segura, Roberto Rodríguez and Bernardo Castellanos.
