A forty-nine-year-old St. George’s bus driver, slapped with three counts of rape allegations against a fifteen-year-old child has been placed on $30.000 bail.
Magistrate Francine Foster presiding over matters at the Number Two Magistrate’s Court in St. George’s last Friday had the bond issued to Kennis Roberts, a well-known bus driver plying the Darbeau/Tempe route in St George’s.
According to information reaching the Grenada Informer, Roberts was arrested last Wednesday following reports linking him to the crime that allegedly took place between 1st of December 2017 and the 31st December 2017.
Roberts who was represented in court last Friday by defence lawyer Derrick Sylvester is due to make a second appearance on May 18th, 2018.
If convicted under subsection 1 of the 2012 Criminal Code he is liable to a term of imprisonment not exceeding thirty years on each count.
