Grenada: “$75,000 bail for 22 year-old springs resident”

A twenty-two-year-old woman from the village of Spring in St George’s, slapped with two indictable charges linking her to allegedly stealing close to one hundred thousand dollars from her employer has been placed on $75,000.00 bail.

Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill presiding at the St George’s Number One Magistrate Court last Friday, had bail granted to Shenel Fortune originally from St David’s on charges of Stealing by Reason of Employment and Money Laundering.

According to information emanating from inside the courtroom where the young lady made her first appearance, the incident is alleged to have taken place between April of 2017 and January of 2018, during which time she was an employee of one Andre Patterson.

Fortune was represented by defence lawyer Peter David who had a smooth run in securing bail for his client, as the prosecution raised no objection to his request.
