Three St. Patrick fishermen were granted bail of $100,000.00 with two sureties each when they appeared at the Sauteurs Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 14th February, on drug charges.
Kevin Phillip, 25 years, of Carriacou, Rawle Mc Queen, 28 years of La Fortune and Alvin Alexis, 26 years of Rose Hill were jointly charged with two counts each of trafficking of a controlled drug and conspiracy to traffic a controlled drug after police seized 280 pounds of cannabis from the men on Green Island (outside Levera) on Sunday 11th February 2018.
A small boat was also confiscated.
As conditions of their bail, Phillip was ordered to report to the Sauteurs Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6am and 6pm. The other two men must do the same at the Sauteurs Police Station. The drugs were valued at $633,000.00.
